 Stephen D. McCarthy
Managing Director
Stephen D. McCarthy is the Managing Director of Buchanan Street Partners’ southeast regional headquarters. He is responsible for investing in value-add opportunities as well as leading all production, marketing and branding efforts in Atlanta while also serving clients throughout the southeastern United States.
Mr. McCarthy has over 20 years of real estate experience managing developments, acquisitions and assets on both sides of the Atlantic. Prior to joining Buchanan Street Partners, he was a Founding Principal and Managing Director of WestWind Capital Partners. In this capacity, he was responsible for over $4.5 billion in acquisitions and the management of the firm’s investment portfolio.
Mr. McCarthy graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College in 1982 and received his MBA with honors from Columbia University Business School in 1987. He is an active member of ULI, NAIOP, ICSC and NAREIM.

 C. Steve Yeager
Senior Vice President, Investment Officer
Steve Yeager is responsible for the underwriting and execution of new investment opportunities for Buchanan’s discretionary equity funds and has responsibility for managing assigned Buchanan assets Formerly he was with TMW Real Estate Group and Prudential Real Estate Investors for 17 years where he managed and provided direction for multi-disciplinary functions related to the acquisition process. Immediately prior to joining Buchanan, he headed up his own advisory development firm.
Throughout his career, Mr. Yeager has pursued, acquired and closed over 10 million square feet of commercial real estate with a value in excess of $2.3 billion including retail, office, industrial and multi-use (office/retail) product in more than 20 major markets nationally on behalf of German Private and Institutional capital, including the Chrysler Building, 666 Fifth Avenue, Beverly-Mercedes Building, 100 First Street, 84 State Street, 2001 and 1875 Pennsylvania Avenue. Mr. Yeager has a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Georgia and a Masters of Real Estate from Georgia State University.

Scott J. Barr
Senior Associate, Transaction Analyst
Scott Barr is responsible for underwriting, financial analysis, market research and the placement of debt and equity transactions. Prior to joining Buchanan Street Partners, Scott was with LNR Partners where he was involved in the underwriting, acquisition, and asset management of the non-investment grade tranches of commercial mortgage-backed securities. His background also includes an acquisition analyst role with Raymond James Tax Credit Funds where he underwrote $82 million of institutional equity investments in affordable housing projects. Scott holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Florida. He is an active member of ULI, NAIOP, and ICSC.

 Karen A. Lutz
Administrative Assistant
Karen A. Lutz is the Administrative Assistant for the Atlanta office. Karen supports the Atlanta team and manages all administrative tasks. Prior to joining Buchanan Street Partners, Karen was the executive assistant to the CEO for a major reinsurance company in New York. She has an extensive background in office administration and event planning.
