Brian Zulpo is responsible for asset management oversight, including all major decisions and due diligence approvals. Mr. Zulpo is a Buchanan Investment Committee member and has over 27 years of experience in investment management, risk analysis, client relationship development and strategic planning. He has worked in leadership roles with companies such as Concert Realty Partners (ING Realty Partners), Jones Lang La Salle, Heller Financial and Metropolitan Life. Mr. Zulpo holds a B.S. in Commerce from DePaul University, is a CPA, and has completed Exam I for the CFA designation. He is a member of IREI, NAREIM and NAIOP.

Senior Vice President

Mark S. Oddo is responsible for the underwriting, due diligence, and ongoing asset management of fund investments. Mr. Oddo has over 23 years of real estate experience. Prior to joining Buchanan Street Partners, Mr. Oddo led the asset management function for the institutional advisory group of Draper and Kramer, Inc. based in Chicago. He possesses a diverse professional background including construction management, lending, consulting and underwriting of institutional quality real estate located throughout the United States in all major real estate asset categories. Mr. Oddo received a B.S. and an MBA in Finance from DePaul University.

Kimberly Stevenson

Vice President

Kimberly D. Stevenson is responsible for the underwriting, due diligence, and closing of new investments; managing the formulation and implementation of strategies for each property, and ultimately overseeing the disposition of assets at the end of their holding period. Prior to joining Buchanan, she was Director of Asset Management & Leasing for The Garrett Group, a land and investment management company with 2.5 million square feet of office and industrial product under ownership. Ms. Stevenson has over 18 years of commercial real estate experience including portfolio management for The Irvine Company where she was the Portfolio Manager for 4.2 million square feet of Class A office space in Orange County. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a major in Real Estate Finance from the University of Southern California and currently sits on NAIOP's Inland Empire Board.

Marco A. Vartanian

Vice President

Marco A. Vartanian is responsible for managing assigned Buchanan assets as a member of the Investment Management team.

Prior to joining Buchanan Street, Mr. Vartanian was with Maguire Properties where he worked on leasing Maguire's 3.5 million square foot Orange County office portfolio. He started his real estate career at Cushman & Wakefield (formerly with Cushman Realty Corp.) in downtown Los Angeles; upon relocation to Orange County he was involved in the disposition of over $500 million in office, retail and industrial investment sale transactions.

Mr. Vartanian graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Entrepreneurial Studies from the University of Southern California. He is an active member of NAIOP's-Young Professional's Group, USC's Marshall School of Business and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Laura J. Bogart manages compliance, third party due diligence, risk management, and the closing of fund investments, in addition to her asset management responsibilities. She has 18 years of experience in real estate. Prior to joining Buchanan, she was responsible for directing the due diligence and closing process at FINOVA Realty Capital and Belgravia Capital Corporation, closing over $1 billion in financings. Ms. Bogart is a graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles and is also an active member of NAREIM.

Assistant Vice President

Brian A. Payne is responsible for various aspects of the asset management of fund and private placement investments. Prior to joining Buchanan, Mr. Payne worked with LNR Property Corporation where he was responsible for managing all financial and operational aspects of the company's Arizona assets and a portion of the Southern California assets. He was also involved with the underwriting and closing of transactions in all major real estate product types. Prior to LNR, he worked with The Carlyle Group as an analyst for the company's U.S. real estate funds. 

Mr. Payne earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Maryland. He is a CPA and an active member of the NAIOP Young Professionals Group.

Josh Needle is responsible for the asset management analysis of current fund investments as well as the underwriting and due diligence of potential equity and debt investments. Prior to working at Buchanan Street Partners, Josh worked with The Bascom Group, a private equity real estate investment firm, where he was responsible for acquisitions, asset management, JV equity fundraising, and advised on numerous workouts, and recapitalizations. Prior to Bascom, Josh served as a financial advisor to high net worth individuals and small businesses, and as management consultant to Fortune 500 companies.

Josh earned his MBA from the Paul Merage School of Business at UCI, where he received the first ever NAIOP SoCal Fellowship Award, and he received his undergraduate degree in business from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He holds several FINRA securities licenses, a California Broker’s License and is a Co-Founder and current Co-Chair of the UCI Real Estate Alumni Association (UCIREA). Josh is an active member of the ULI Orange County Young Leaders Group and the NAIOP SoCal Young Professionals Group (YPG).

Lauren's responsibilities include managing companywide reporting and yearly 3rd party audits.  Additionally, she assists with asset level due diligence and property cash flow management.  

Prior to joining Buchanan, Lauren worked in marketing & communications for Cardiac Science, Inc. and Memorex Products, Inc.  

Lauren received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from California State University, Fullerton. She is a licensed California Real Estate Salesperson and also a licensed California Notary Public.  Lauren is an active member of the NAIOP Young Professionals Group.
