Buchanan’s Challenge for Children
Hundreds of real estate professionals battle it out under the sun every year while participating in Buchanan Street Partners’ Challenge for Children charity event. This multi-sport competition rallies the commercial real estate industry and regularly raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for United Way’s Success By 6, a nationwide United Way initiative promoting healthy development and school readiness for children from birth to age six. In recent years, Buchanan has included other notable charities to benefit from this combination network event/battleground.
The all-day event pits numerous real estate industry teams against each other in volleyball, basketball, and a variety of creative relays. A huge barbeque and after-event open bar/socializing make the day one that most participants mark on the calendar well in advance.
Challenge for Children 2007
Buchanan Street Partners hosted their 7th annual Challenge for Children on September 14, 2007 at the Newport Dunes in Newport Beach, CA. The theme of the day was “Give Back” and this was truly accomplished as multiple checks were presented at the end of the day valuing $573,000. The event which consisted of volleyball, basketball, a kayak-run relay and a water-bike race, brought together over 400 real estate industry professionals to raise awareness and financial support for United Way’s Success by 6 Initiative, TACA (Talk About Curing Autism), Miocean, and Big Bothers & Big Sisters of Orange County. Buchanan Street Partners is very grateful to all of the participants and sponsors that supported this successful event.
